Katy Stone is a songwriter and recording artist currently living in Brooklyn, NY.
She joined her first band in 2001, an all female folk band called Sugar Mountain Mama Serenade. She played banjo, guitar, wrote and sang. She played bass and toured nationally with the indie-pop band Goldenboy from 2008 to 2012.
Katy Stone's latest recording for sale, is a 7" vinyl record from Kitten Charmer Records (printed on blue, white and black splattered vinyl). It is currently available at Amoeba Records in San Francisco or you can order it from Midheaven.
Katy Stone earned her liberal arts degree from Scripps College in Claremont, California, where she studied studio art (specifically video art) under Nancy Macko. It was at college where she first started experimenting with songwriting/recording and performing. After college, she worked at The Folk Music Center, played music locally and began teaching. With the help of students from her group classes and ukulele obsessed friends, Katy started The Claremont Ukulele Club, which meets once a month, and performs locally in Claremont.
Katy moved to Brooklyn at the beginning of 2013. She is playing guitar with the Indie Rock band Bunny Punch and teaching lessons in Park Slope.
